My Sister's Secret

I have an older sister who is 16, and the other day I saw her smoking with her friends out in the back of our house. My mom was at work and I was supposed to be doing my homework, but I got curious about what the big kids were talking about outside, so I kind of spied on them. But now I know my sister smokes, and I don't know what to do. My sister didn't see me, and I haven't told anyone yet. I am so scared because I know smoking is really bad for you. What would you do? ~Kelsey
Tell your sister that you can die from smoking and that she is too young to be going through that stuff and tell your sister that there are better things then smoking

I really think you should tell her she might end up dying and dont be afraid to even tell your mother mabey it was pearpresure but you still needto confront her about wat you saw and she shouldnt be doing it.

well what i would do is, if i saw my big sister smoking i would call her into my bedroom and show her all the resouces about why smoking is bad for!! and i'd tell her that im worried of her and i want her to stop and then i'd give her a nice big hig and say gently please pleeeease don't smoke its bad for you! and i wanna keep my big sister!!

Hey your a great sister to worry about your health of your sister.I would talk to her privately about smoking hazards.Then get her permission to tell your mom later.

I'd would tell my mother because u are not just helping yourself for telling you are also helping your sister because you can ask your mom to help you stop her! S he will get mad but she will start realizing that you help her and she will thank you! Who cares what she calls you! Tell your mom don't be scared!

Tell your parents right away, but ask them not to say anything to your sister until you tell her you told. That way, she won't be to caught off guard when your parents confront her.

Well, I think that just telling your parents wouldnt be a problem at all. I mean, smoking isnt something that should be kept a seceret because if you do it to much you could get sick. You dont want your sister to get sick do you? Well, to prevent that, just tell your parents. I know that your sister might be a little upset about it, but trust me, Later she will thank you for it. Talk to your sister you saw her her when nobody is around (she most likely did it because her friends did) tell her it was stupid of her to do it. It might be hard on you to teller but if you don't sound convinced she won't follow along with you.You should tell your mom when nobody is around. My Uncle smokes so I know how you feel.It can be hard on you but you have to do your part or she could get sick.

If you ask me(which you are)tell your parents right away even if your sister does get angry.Do you love your sister?Think this over, do you want your sister to get angry or die or get lung cancer/disease?

I would at first be super surprised.But then I would be confused and upset and angry.You need to tell your mom.Your sister will get over it and see that what she is doing is wrong and you only told because you care about her and do not want her to get lung diseases and get sick and die.

I would tell my parents right away. Keeping it a secret can get you into trouble. Tell them. They will thank you that you did.

Tell my mom ! Your sister could die who cares if shes mad at you tell anyways unless you think her being nice is enough for you . but she could get serious health problems!

If this was me I would talk to my mom or dad before talking to her. Don't be afraid if your sister will be mad at you, because in the end you will be helping her in the end. If you stop her now it might be easier for her to quit smoking than if you wait and she gets more addicted. Good luck!!!

I would tell my mom and dad because I wont let my sister get away with smoking, I wont wait, and wait, and wait until she gets really ill, even if my parents are at work, I will call them up right away!

I would tell my mom so she can take care of it. It's ok to tell if its hurting someone.Your sister will be mad and then, some day she will be glad you told.

Tell your mom any way! she might be grumpy at first but she will be thankfull that you did and your sister might get mad at you but its for her health

i would just go and tell your mom i mean it's not your fault she is smoking. plus, you would be helping her a lot. she probly knows smoking is really bad but she does it because her friends are. DUH!

I would tell any adult you trust especialy your parents. Because smoking is iilegal for her because she is under age. She will get mad at you 4 telling on her but in the long run she'll thank you. Bye

Well, first of all, did you actually see her put the cigarette in her mouth? If so, tell your mom what you saw. Try not to make it seem like you're tattle-telling, and do it when your sister is not around. Tell you mom which friends your sister was with, and when it happened. your sister may be mad at first, but she'll thank you for it later on.

The best thing you can do is to tell your mom but first you need to make sure to tell you sister first that you know she smokes but remember to mention that it's bad for her & that you are going to tell your mom. If she threatens you, which mine would, tell your mom but also make sure to say not to tell your sister that you where the one who told. insted just tell your mom to find evadence & then get made at your sister & try to help her. best of luck.

Hmm. I would tell my mom no matter what. she will take care of everything. And, you might be worrying that if you tell your mom, your mom will talk with her and she will know you spied on her. It's okay, it will help her in the long run. She has a problem with smoking and if you tell a family member it should be all taken care of.

tell your mom or dad once they get home.your right smoking is bad for you.i learned in school that smoking can kill you.so what if your sister beats you up for the rest of your life,i know deep inside she will be thanking you that you saved her life by telling someone.

Tell an adult your sister is smoking. Don't keep it bottled up your big sis may think it's cool but smoking may cause damage to her body. She may also just be smoking because her friends are but that does't make it okay.
